SMART 2020:
Enabling the low carbon economy in the information age
What is the role of information and communications technologies(ICTs) in enabling a low carbon economy? A global study SMART 2020: Enabling the low carbon economy in the information age by The Climate Group and McKinsey & Company on behalf of the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) found that the ICT sector could enable 15% savings of carbon emissions in 2020 through enabling efficiency and dematerialization.
What are the next steps to realising this potential? What does leadership look like in the ICT sector, and how can it work collaboratively with other sectors to reduce emissions from buildings, transport, industry and power?
The China event will bring together senior ICT industry representatives with policy makers and other industrial leaders in the region who will report on the opportunities highlighted in the report.
TCT and GeSI invite you to join us to explore China's role in SMART 2020, and how Chinese innovation can enable local and global climate change solutions.
